Some of my favs. « Thread Started on Jul 17, 2009, 5:44pm »
Sorry it has taken me so long Eric, but you know how it can be after a week in Vegas, takes some time for the energy levels to build back up!! I arrived in Vegas to a Limo pickup at the airport for the first time...Very nice way to start things out, and definitely the fastest trip to my hotel ever!!! I stayed at the Imperial Palace...All I can say is DON"T ever stay there..Worst service EVER, I don't care if it was free for the week..it sucked, and they couldn't pay me to stay there again, let's just say i have a feeling Harrah's will be offering up something really nice at the Rio for next year. Luckily it was Vegas, so we really didn't spend alot of time there. Here are some pics of some of the pros we bumped into along our travels. Here is Phil getting a massage. This is me with Tiffany Michell, Mersocal, and Cdubya. Gus playing the 50K horse. Patrik Antonius at the same table. Just to prove we were there. David Williams taking a final table break. One of my absolute favs...Linda Johnson, the first lady of poker, and she was sooooo sweet!!! This is Onfirelucky(Angi) and me with Phil Laak, right after he stepped on my flip flop and tripped me at the Rio. Weeeeeeee!!! This was a pic I found on the UB blog, that's Phil Helmuth coming down on the hoop at the UB party at Studio54, and that's me in the background in the red dress. More from that party later. Ok, on to the parties...first was our private Luau, held at the private villa that was rented by Chumley and Totty. It was so much fun getting to see everyone again, we had way too much food, way too many drinks, and so many laughs my stomach hurt!! Here is a few from that party... This is Totty and me posing with our decorating job before the party started. Some of my favorite ladies..off the table... Onfirelucky, me, Bagelbear, and Mersocal. Group shot. Of course we had to do some tequila shots.(in this pic...Bornon420, Mersocal, Totty, Chumley, me, Sharbear, and Hooch.) At some point, somebody came up with the brilliant idea to have a cannonball contest, and that tequila must have been good, because I agreed, and actually jumped into the pool!! Here is Woohoo Sue our #1 cannonball champ giving a victory whoop to the live cam we had set up, connected to Rounders Radio chat. The wet look... Yep, I would have to say this one goes down in the books as a complete success!!! Hope we see more of you there next year for our private party which will hopefully be held in a private suite at the HardRock Hotel. Chumley, me, Meri and Angi. The next day, it was over to the Golden Nugget for our private tourney, we couldn't have hoped for a better turn out, we had 60 players, up from 38 last year...The entire final table of 10 got paid, $940 for first..not too shabby for a $60 buyin. Unfortunately I finished 12th, but, I made a couple of crazy river suck outs to stay in that long and the experience and fun of playing with friends and family was sooo worth every penny, so for those of you who say it only happens online...I am proof it happens everywhere...ALOT...because we set up a home game later on in the week, and I runnered two cards to make a straight with 33 against Angi's JJ to take 2nd in that game!! Here is the final table..Congrats to a newbie named Joe (Getthis13) online I think, he was with Dhawkins, one of the guys who beat me out for a WSOP seat this year. So the next day, Chris and Doug from Cake Poker had been calling to make sure we coming to the Cake party over at the Palms...Uhm ya...hell hasn't froze over has it??? So we head over to the Palms, after an afternoon of pro stalking over at the Rio, let me tell ya...Cake stepped it up a notch from last year!!! We arrive to a champagne greeting by a couple of the beautiful cake models...into a penthouse suite with a pool balcony, a spinning bed, a double jacuzzi, and a shower so big we probably could have ALL fit in it!!! There was food and cake and drinks a plenty...no running out of anything this year...lol. And the SWAG..omg!!! Thank you soooo much to Chris for taking such good care of me, unfortunately we couldn't convince any of the models to take off their Cake bikini's for me, but Chris did manage to get me one of the slinky lil Cake dresses, and a big duffel jammed full of awesome and fun gear!!!TYTY!!! View from the suite... The pool, which happens to hang out 30 stories over Las Vegas. The spinning bed..Not only fun, but WOW what a view of Vegas at night!!! This feature wall in the suite is actually a waterfall, and the floor underneath is a stream, covered by glass. This cake was to die for!!! Best chocolate cake I have ever had!! The jacuzzi...Ya me and Tots seriously contemplating filling that baby up!! Well, the party starts off pretty mellow, everyone mingling and checking the suite out, it really was incredible, well, I guess at this point, Fonzi from Holdem Poker Chat, and Cdub, decide to get the party started, they strip down to their undies and jump into the pool with cake models, who had been quietly awaiting this fun all night(tough job eh?)...WEeeeeeeeeee!!! I am of course front row and center for the evidence!! Fonzi. Cdub. In the meantime Bagelbear wins the spontaneous home game that had somehow erupted!! WTG girl!! We get the DJ to crank up the tunes and hit the dance floor, this of course after making sure Cdub didn't have a broken ass after falling on it twice getting out of the pool!! Angi and Cdub. Well this is all getting to be too much, so we head to the spinning bed to relax..Everyone seems to think this is a good idea tho... I said Relax DUB!! EEK!! Ahhh yes, this is what I am talking about!! A shot of the poker game. As you can see, by this time, Waldo, who happened to be everywhere in Vegas was getting a little out of control, so we decided to call it a night, and headed back over to the hotel. Thx again Cake!! Another day...another party!! This time it was UB over at Studio54...Can you say Weeeeeeeee!!! They had rented out the entire space, drinks were free and never ending, and the entertainment was spectacular!!! The place was full of UB pros, and just beautiful people in general. I got to meet and chat with Annie Duke, unfortunately, I had dropped my camera at that point, and it was being fixed...doh!!! She was very sweet and invited us to her party the next night at the Lava Lounge!!! Sweeet!!! We of course...lol...get tired of sitting around being good, and decide we should dance!!! Here I am dancing with Joe the newbie, who happens to be a good dancer as well as poker player. Joe, and Woohoo Sue. TY to UB, was a great party...we ended up hitting the casino for about three hours after that party, and let me tell ya, when I woke up the next day, another party was the LAST thing I wanted or needed, I decided I was going to skip the Lava Lounge party, and find some poker to play..Well, it turned out nobody felt like another party, so we decided a home game and BBQ over at the villa would be much better!! I took second, and had my first home cooked meal in a week...yummy!!! Cablegator, Chumley, Tots, Marc and me..Angi was taking pics. Well, that's about it, the next day was spent packing up at the IP, and heading over to Binions for a day of goodbyes, and plans for next year!! I did manage to hit quad aces on the video slot right before I left!!!Weeeeeeeeeee!!! Hope you enjoy, and you better be there next year Eric!!! It was so much fun to see all the 101a'ers who did show up...Goob, riverdrat, just to name a couple, you guys are the best!!
